Privacy Policy
Effective July 12, 2026
The short version: your writing stays on your Mac. Vespers does not collect, upload, sync, or index your prose. There is no account. There is no telemetry. There is no analytics beacon in the app.
Vespers is a desktop app. Everything you write with it lives in a folder on your Mac that you choose. If you point that folder at iCloud, Dropbox, or another sync service, those providers can see your files under their own privacy terms; Vespers is not involved in that decision or that sync.
The app stores no third-party telemetry, no crash reporters, no analytics libraries. It does not phone home. When you launch Vespers, the only network activity it may perform is a check for updates (if you enable it) and a font-file fetch on first run if you're online. Neither of those transmits any information about your writing.
This site (vespersapp.com) is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may collect standard web-server logs, aggregated by their infrastructure, to keep the site available and protect against abuse (see Cloudflare's privacy policy). Vespers does not add any additional analytics, tracking scripts, or third-party beacons on top of that.
If you email hi@vespersapp.com, that message is forwarded via Cloudflare Email Routing to a personal inbox and is used only to reply to you. It is not added to any mailing list. If you'd rather remove correspondence, ask and it's deleted.
When you download Vespers, standard download logs may be collected by Cloudflare (as above). The app installer does not phone home during install. Update checks, if you enable them in a future version, will only fetch the current version number; they do not transmit information about your writing.
Vespers is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
If this policy changes in any material way, the effective date at the top of this page updates, and a note is posted on the Vespers Bluesky account. Vespers will never quietly begin collecting new categories of data without saying so first.
